Welcome to Evergreen Counseling

Hi, I am Lauren Amason, the owner and primary counselor of Evergreen Counseling Services. I believe great therapy happens with positive and personal relationships, and I believe we can start our therapeutic relationship right now! 

So let me introduce myself; I was born and raised in Screven County and I love our community. I completed my undergraduate and graduate studies at Georgia Southern University in Child and Family Development and my masters in Counselor Education.  I am now back in the Sylvania community and it feels good to be home!

Serving the community is important to me and I have had the opportunity to do that through the Sylvania Chamber of Commerce and other local nonprofits. I love learning about people and business.  My family has owned a couple small businesses in the area as well as surrounding counties, so I have grown up around business my whole life. I worked as a school counselor for a while until I started to work in private practice counseling. Before long I knew it was time to start my own practice, which is where Evergreen Counseling Services, LLC comes into the picture!

I am excited to take that heart of business and love for people and use it to bring a much-needed resource to our community. I have experience working with all ages – children, adolescents, as well as adults, but my focus is on youth, adolescents, family therapy, and parenting skills. Since we are in a small community our paths may have crossed in the past which means you may be hesitant to start a therapeutic relationship. One of the first things we will do is create clear boundaries that match your needs in our small community.

Some of my favorite hobbies and passions include volunteering, cooking and trying new foods, gardening, and spending time with my family and friends. My goal with Evergreen Counseling Services is to help make each home a happy home. Each family has their own strengths and difficulties.
